Welcome to the JKP Tabla Classes & Riyaz App, operated by JKP Tabla Gurukul Haldwani (led by Guru Jugal Kishore Papnai). We provide music education tools, online courses, practice riyaz utilities (electronic Tanpura, Lehra, Metronome, Taal Counter), educational short reels, and student community spaces.
We respect your privacy and process personal data in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the SPDI Rules, 2011, DPDPA, and Google Play & Apple App Store Developer Policies.
2. Information We Collect
- Account Information: Name, Email Address (e.g. for login), and Mobile Phone Number (for OTP authentication and verification via Firebase).
- Course & Learning Progress: Completed lessons, practice streaks, course enrollments, bookmarked reels, and tempo settings.
- Audio & Practice Data: Real-time microphone input used solely for the digital instrument pitch tuner (C# calibration) and student practice self-recordings stored locally on your device unless shared voluntarily.
- Device & Crash Analytics: Device model, OS version, Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens for push alerts, and crash logs to resolve bugs.
3. Device Permissions & Hardware Access
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Required strictly for real-time instrument pitch detection in the Tuner and student riyaz recording.
- Camera / Storage (READ_MEDIA): Optional; used when you upload a profile picture or submit a student performance video to the Community forum.
- Push Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Sends riyaz reminders, new course alerts, and fresh reel uploads.
- Internet Access: Streams HD lesson videos, verifies courses, and synchronizes practice progress.
4. Payments & Razorpay Integration
For paid masterclasses and premium content (such as Intermediate Kaydas & Palte), payments are securely processed through Razorpay Software Private Limited.
PCI-DSS Compliance: We do NOT store or access credit/debit card numbers, CVVs, or net banking passwords on our servers. All sensitive financial transactions are encrypted end-to-end directly by Razorpay in accordance with RBI regulations.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We utilize industry standard service providers: Google Firebase (Authentication, Push Notifications, Crashlytics), Razorpay (Payment Gateway), and Cloudinary / AWS S3 (Secure video & media hosting).
